Operation Encompass

 

Pre-school have signed up to this national project. Operation Encompass is a multi-agency project aiming to safeguard and support children and young people who are involved in or affected by incidents involving domestic abuse by swiftly sharing information between partner agencies. It was devised to ensure schools and Pre-schools were informed when police had been called out to a domestic abuse incident. It was decided that on the next school day the DSL/Deputy DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) would be notified that the child had been involved in/witness to a domestic abuse incident. This enables staff to support the child on the next day. In Surrey the Pre-school will be notified whether the child was present or not.

Dec 2019 - Operation Encompass is currently on hold but will be hopefully up and running again in the future. I understand it is still operating in schools.
